There are so many I am sure who deserve sponsorship but they have other avenues and know where to go. This is a great way for Shane to reach his goal and it is a big goal for a student to raise 7,000.00 on his own But to be able to go to another country for the first time and to work as a team to achieve victory for his country is a big honor and one that should not be missed. This will also give shane so many experience that will benefit him as he goes forward in life.
Detailed Event / Project Description
People to People Ambassador Programs
.
January , 2010
Attention To; Sponsors
My name is Shane Sacks, and I am a 7th-grade student at Stimpson Middle School in South Huntington NY. I was recently recommended and accepted to participate as a Sports Ambassador in the People to People Soccer Cup Tournament in Austria and Germany this summer 2010. This 12-day experience will include meeting with other world Ambassadors and leaders from Austria and Germany, as well as working with the best coaches from around the world. We will be playing a 4 day tournament against other players from around the world. Our trip will also consist of going to one of the largest concentration camps in Germany where we will meet with a camp survivor. We will also be experiencing the Medieval times brought to life for us in a celebration like no other. There will be educational workshops as well, where I will get to interact with so many other students and teachers from all over the world.
People to People student leaders are recommended by educators and evaluated before their
acceptance, and I am honored to have been selected. Personally, I am looking forward to exploring new countries and making new friends. With this program I am also able to earn high school and college credits. This is a great advantage for any student.
I am currently seeking financial sponsors to help me with the tuition, and I hope I can count on your support. In case you haven’t heard of People to People, please allow me to share some history with you. President Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the organization in 1956. He believed that if people from different cultures could come together in peace and friendship, so eventually would their countries. Since its founding, People to People has launched many international programs, including Sister Cities and Project HOPE. The program tuition is $7000.00, which includes all on-site transportation, accommodations, meals, and educational activities. I am asking contributors to each donate to help me
reach my goal. Is it possible for you to assist me by making a contribution? Any amount would be
greatly appreciated. To also help me with my fundraising I am asking for big item donations from retailers.
We are going to hold a raffle starting in March and for each $50.00 that is donated we will enter your name into the raffle. The fundraiser will end June 15, 2010 and then we will announce the winners on my website http://www.shanesacks12.wikispaces.com . If by any chance we raise over the amount stated then I will be donating that overage to my local charity Project Hope, which I have donated my time over the last two years too.
I have enclosed a contribution form for you to fill out and return as instructed on it. You can also download a contribution form off of my website http://www.shanesacks12.wikispaces.com
Please feel free to contact me at 631-427-4823 if you need more information. Your generous
contribution would enable me to share in this wonderful opportunity. Thank you in advance for your
consideration and support.
Sincerely yours,
